When I was a wayward sixteen year old, my parents arranged for me to meet with a career counselor. After extensive interviews and a four-hour multiple choice personality quiz, we sat down to talk about my future. He told me that I was a creative kid with a gift for technical, hands-on work. Then he told me that I would make a good laboratory researcher, possibly working with high tech materials, like ceramics.
Many years later, I know that I've found my calling, creating images for clients around the world. I try to pay attention to the everyday moments that are often overlooked, and I find the creative process even more rewarding when it involves collaboration.
That said, I'm comforted knowing that if this photography thing doesn't pan out, there will always be a lab out there in need of a ceramics researcher.
