Home is where the heart is. That’s why it felt important for photographer Shaun Fenn to create a campaign for KB Homes that felt authentic, warm and relatable.

With an emphasis on their extensive design studio & custom build-outs, KB looked to the collaborative efforts of Fenn and Phenomenon Agency to dream up a campaign that incorporated candid moments in the home, while also featuring key aspects of their streamlined design process.

They wanted to have a mix of imagery with depth and emotion to it, rather than stocky, sterile shots.

Shaun and team split two days between in-home scenes and design studio highlights. With good processes in place and an even greater team, the aggressive shoot schedule not only kept everyone on their toes, but also demonstrated their impressive ability to work with ease within tight parameters.

Creating an image around an emotion or experience is what we do. Elevating that to a beautiful still photograph which can stand on its own is really the reward.” 

Shaun’s skillful technical precision, resourceful imagination and quick eye for meaningful moments, allowed for a campaign that feels, both, alive and lived in— a body of work that made KB houses a home.

Shaun collaborated with Art Producer Melanie Tongas on the project. When asked about working with Shaun, Melanie had this to say:

Shaun was such a pleasure to work with. He’s one of those people you like from the moment you speak with him on the phone. He’s engaging, creative, and collaborative… and has a great sense of humor. We had a unique situation with a few CDs jumping in and out of the project based on their busy schedules, but Shaun just rolled with it like it happens every day, which kept the peace all around. We got some great images! He’s great with talent and grabbed those “real” moments… but that’s obvious as his work speaks for itself.”
